Alumni Affairs recently hosted the annual Spring Graduation Recognition Lunch for KAUST’s newest graduate alumni on May 18, 2023. This annual event was another well attended Spring Graduation Lunch sponsored by Alumni Affairs, celebrating the addition of nearly 150 new graduates into the global alumni community, which now totals more than 2,800.

Graduating students, faculty, KAUST staff and alumni who attended the lunch had the chance to connect and network with one another, and hear from presenters including Professor Larry Carin, Provost, and Professor Brian Moran, Dean of Graduate Affairs. The alumni guest speaker; Dr Sandra Medina, PhD ‘20, CTO and Co-Founder of WAYAKIT, a biotechnology-based KAUST startup, offered her congratulations to the Spring Graduates on behalf of the alumni community, and shared her story of finding her passion and career at KAUST. Finally, we were fortunate once again to have one of regular student volunteers, Abdullah Alshehri PhD Candidate, MC the event.

Hugh Gyetvai and Vladan Maksimovic from the Office of Alumni Affairs, discussed how graduates can stay connected to KAUST and join global Alumni Chapters and Networks. They also presented each new alum with a gift in recognition of their achievements.
