An Alumni Career Conversation Academia VS Industry – one or the other or can I have both? took place on October 22, right before the Fall KAUST Career Fair. 3 Alumni panelists offered hints, tips and experiences of their own paths regarding the decisions to be made about life after graduate school.
Panelists:
Dr Ahmed Shibl is a Research Associate at New York University Abu Dhabi, and graduated from KAUST with a PhD in 2015 in Marine Science. His research interests are microbial ecosystems and using this knowledge to develop solutions for current environmental or societal problems.
Dr Alaa Ezzedine is a Strategy Manager for KPMG in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. A PhD graduate from KAUST, he is a chemical expert and strategy consultant for the chemical, industrial and manufacturing sectors in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States.
Dr Johannes Fischer is a biochemist, trained medical doctor, entrepreneur and consultant, graduating with a PhD from KAUST in 2015. He is founder of HungryCampus and, based in Munich, he is currently a Senior Associate with Wellington Parnters - Life Sciences in the role of Senior Associate.
